Big Redstar (Colorado x Malki x Fidelity) is a well-developed, attractive bull with a robust pedigree: his sire contributes the bloodline of top conformation breeding bull Colorado and through his dam's line he is related to the Super Star family (that also includes Big Winner).
Colorado, Redstar’s sire, has a highly reliable inheritance pattern based on thousands of daughters. An examination of their scores reveals that Colorado has a greater tendency to pass on good conformation rather than extreme production. The production of his daughters is good, but where he really excels is in passing on (faultless) conformation scores. Colorado daughters have very good frames, super udders and good legs. This calving ease bull also performs perfectly when it comes to fertility and udder health traits.
Redstar's dam’s line equally stands out for the quality of conformation (eight generations of VG or EX cows). Over the years, this Superstar family has proven to be a cow family that breeds well and offers a solid combination of conformation, production and durability. Exemplary of this durability is great great grandam Pinkpop Star 5 (EX 90). With udders meriting 93 points, she produced more than 100,000 kg milk and was one of a trio of half-sisters who achieved this milestone. And, topping this, their Blackstar dam (89 points) produced almost 140,000 kg. Super Star 25 (EX 90) is Redstar's great great grandam and a daughter of Pinkpop Star 5. Super Star 25 has produced 75,000 kg of milk and is also dam to breeding bull Big Winner. She also counts numerous bull dams among her offspring, including daughters by Orcival, O-man and Lightning. One of Super Star 25's daughters is Super Star 32 (VG 85, lifetime production of more than 85,000 kg), Redstar's great grand dam and dam of “SAMEN” bull Snow Ball (s. Radon). In closing, we would like to mention Redstar’s dam Super Star 146.
This excellent rated cow has already made a few appearances as part of a daughter group sired by Malki and her individual titles include champion at the winter show in Zwolle (2018). In addition, and certainly an important factor, she is a very persistent milker who is noting outstanding lactations.
