HOR Stan (Pp) (Lucky x Curtis x Bravisi) is a German bred, Red Holstein bull who boasts a varied, international array of bulls in his pedigree. He is a half-brother of Best Sun, a bull who has already been offered by K.I. SAMEN. With the exception of grand sire Curtis, they are also all bulls with a completely different bloodline for the red-and-white segment. Given his maternal and paternal pedigrees, Stan will input a considerable boost to both production and conformation. Moreover, thanks to his polled gene, 50% of his offspring will be born hornless. And, with an aAa code of 153 and A2A2 for beta-casein, Stan has even more interesting traits.
Stan's sire Lucky PP has passed on the polled gene to Stan and contributed to the A2A2 for beta-casein. This Jax son is homozygous polled and a perfect bull for calving ease. He transmits impeccable production and conformation traits, with standout udders.
In Stan's maternal line, we have discovered an impressive cow family. The cows from this S-line come to the fore on the Horstick farm in each successive generation. They stand out not just for their impressive production figures, but also for their solid, and often very attractive, conformation. The best example of this is probably Sunrise (VG 89), the dam of Stan. Sunrise descends from several generations of cows who all scored at least 84 points for conformation and with great production, scoring high for protein, to their names. In terms of protein, great grand dam Sunshine (s. Bestow, 3.82% protein) and grand dam Sunrose (s. Reno, 3.51% protein) really excel. However, two daughters produced by Stan's dam Sunrise are also performing well in the milk production stakes: Sunstar, an 87 point daughter of Laron P with an average of 3.72% protein and Sundisc, sired by Desk, and meriting 88 points with an average of 3.47% protein.
